Hot Snook Bite!

Wow Hunter and Nina really caught some beauties on this gorgeous November afternoon. We started out with the jack crevalle. Big ones were blowing up the surface so Hunter threw a topwater plug and hooked up immediately. Nina stuck with the live bait and hooked up several nice ones. Those jacks are great drag screaming fun on light tackle. When the bite slowed, we loaded up on pinfish at a bait spot. We catch them on tiny hooks and shrimp bits. It’s always a good time, leisurely catching the little guys while just enjoying being on the water and chatting about this and that. Next the goal is to get those live baits in front of some big hungry fish. Well, we were blessed this day with an insane snook bite. Nina started off with a slot snook on the first cast! Now Hunter was just on fire. He kept throwing in his “honey hole” and catching one big snook after another. It was a real treat for me to see a couple that enjoys fishing so much, get into an epic bite like we had this day. It was a subtle bite and the fish would pick up the bait and either not move or move towards us. Hunter had a great time figuring this out and mastering the hook set. Oh, and Happy Birthday Nina! I’m sure it’s not one you will soon forget.
