Cobia and Mahi. Yum!

Mike, Penny, Rebecca, Ron and I were on our way mahi fishing when we saw something we couldn’t resist. As I went over one of my favorite reefs my sonar screen lit up with fish returns. I didn’t need to twist any arms to get them to fish here as we all gawked at the sonar screen. It turned out that the spot was loaded with cobia. We filled up the fish box in short order with the tasty, hard fighting fish. Then as we were contemplating a move a big school of mahi swam up to the boat and turned the water blue and green. We managed to catch only one before they abruptly disappeared. We did finally get underway and trolled for mahi out in the deeper water. We got a double header and called it a day. Lots of fish to clean today. Awesome day of fishing with some great folks.
