Denise, Jackie and I had a great time bottom fishing on this day. Jackie seemed to have all the luck early. She caught several beautiful red snapper and a giant amberjack as Denise was catching small fish. But things can change quickly while fishing. Near the end of the day, Denise was sticking with her rig with the small hook and started to send down a tiny piece of squid. I almost stopped her in order to put a “better” bait on, but it was too late and the tiny bait was on it’s way. Well you guessed it. Her pole bent over big time and a great fight ensued full of hard charges and drag screaming runs. Denise showed great patience and finally brought the trophy mangrove snapper pictured below, to the surface. Congratulations Denise on a great fish!
