John hadn't been working the top water lure too long on the surface when I heard that sound. The sound of a big fish crushing a bait on the surface. He pulled on the lure and set the hook. The fish then went on a screaming run in the shallow waters. The light rod and reel he was using was barely a match for this bruiser as line quickly disappeared from the spool. I had to quickly start the boat and move toward the fish to prevent the fish from stripping all the line off. John patiently fought the big jack crevalle and finally brought it to the boat. What a great way to start the day!
