Family Cobia

Suzanne, Derek, and their two boys joined me for a great day of offshore fishing on this beautiful December day. We caught a ton of nice fish including red snapper, triggerfish, shark, Spanish mackerel and others. The prize fish of the day was a big cobia. Suzanne hooked it and it pulled so hard she decided to hand the rod over to her husband Dereck. The battle went on and on as it charged around on the surface and went back down several times. Finally, Dereck wore it out and we scooped it into the net. What a beauty! The family was new to saltwater fishing so everything was fresh and exciting to them. I love showing guests all the features and cool defense characteristics of the fish. It was a fun day!
