Snook Like the Live Bait

Steve, his father Walter and myself went out on this windy, rainy afternoon in search of snook. Well, the weather cooperated and so did the snook. We spent the first part of the trip loading the live well with pigfish. This baitfish is caught with a small hook and a piece of shrimp. It takes some time but our chance of catching a trophy fish goes way up with a live well full of pigfish. We had already caught a bunch of big jack crevalle, so when the snook hit and screamed the drag we weren’t sure what we had until it flashed his stripe by the boat. Things got serious then as Steve yelled “snook!” and it charge under the boat screaming drag and wrapping the pole around the boat. It was nice to get this crazy fish in the boat. Way to go Steve!
