Offshore Action

On this day I was putting the first line in the water and as I was describing what to expect when a fish hits the bait, it happened. Everyone was watching the bait skip on the surface as the kingfish jumped out of the water several feet to attack the bait. Young Alex grabbed the rod and the battle was on for the feisty French lad. He struggled a bit but got the nice king wound in to the boat. It was a nice February day on Mother Ocean as we trolled and bottom fished along the reefs. We also caught some tasty assorted bottom fish including the big trigger fish shown below with Alex and mom Joanne. The shark kept us busy all day also. We must have caught a couple dozen.
