Whale watching in Florida?
Don’t think you’re going to come to Florida to see a whale, but we did this week. A 40 foot right whale came in the Sebastian inlet with her 20 ft baby this week. They stayed in the inlet for nearly 2 days as everyone grew concerned that they were distressed or confused. Finally they made their way back to see as the crowds cheered them on. Sometimes I take the wildlife here for granted. But my guests always remind me how special it is by marveling at schools of dolphin and manatees. People are amazed and amused by all the birdlife. The hundreds of pelicans and turns and ducks and skimmers and herons and egrets and others, are awesome to watch while fishing. And I never get tired of showing people the features of all the different species of fish we catch. From the highly prized game fish to the simplest baitfish, each has a story and some interesting feature or defense mechanism in this amazing fishery.
