Fun Day at Crack City

On the way to our fishing spot Jose chuckled and asked “Why do you call it Crack City”. I explained that I SCUBA dive here and it’s a large rock the size of a football field and it is checkerboarded with cracks just large enough for fish to hide in. Well, when we got there I deployed the chum bag and it took only a minute for the boat to be swarmed with amberjack and yellowtail snapper. We fought fish after fish from the bottom and in the chum line. The surprise this day was the mahi encounters. It’s so exciting to see beautiful mahi appear from nowhere and then pitch a bait to them with light tackle. There is nothing better than seeing the fish eat and takeoff screaming drag while doing acrobatic leaps! It was a great day for sure.
