Red Snapper Season Opener

For the first day of red snapper season I was able to match up some people to make a full charter. It worked out well for everyone. The crew got bent on some big fish and I got to watch. Red snapper is catch and release year round, except for a few days each year. These are the days when you don’t have to release that big beautiful red snapper, so it is special. We got 3 red snappers and a large mangrove snapper along with a chunky red grouper. These sweet fish were all mixed in with other fish like sea bass, trigger fish and grunts. There were also lots of mystery fish that pulled extremely hard and won the battle. We caught about a dozen sharks just to add to the action. It was a good day on the water. Above is Duane with a nice red snapper. Below is Kurt's stud mangrove snapper.
