Jim Picks a Fight with a Big Snook

These big snook I have been seeing in the shallows the last month have been haunting me. So Jim and I set up a steak out Thursday night where I had been seeing them feed at dusk. The bait was large mullet. Well, we set the table and like clockwork … KABOOOJ! It was on. Jim put on a clinic while bringing this fish to the boat. He immediately turned the big girls head and got her away from the pilings, then played her like a pro in open water. The big fish wallowed on top the water, head shaking like a tarpon. A couple trips under the boat and around the pilings made wince like it was fourth and goal for the championship. Finally I squeezed her in the net and we grabbed a sunset pick before releasing her back to fight another day. It was a good night in the life of a fisherman.

This blog is dedicated to my wife Snooker who inspires me everyday without using a word.
